Claude Skills are automated, laser-focused workflows that run deterministic tasks inside Claude projects or individual chats, pulling context only when needed to avoid hallucination and ensure repeatable, expert-level outputs.

Skills are deterministic add-ons to projects, not replacements.
Projects provide broad system prompts, memories, and shared context for teams; skills inject narrowly-scoped, repeatable instructions and code that execute only when the task matches.
Why: This separation prevents context rot and keeps the LLM focused on the exact task, reducing hallucination.

Load context only when relevant to the task.
Instead of dumping all brand guidelines or historical data into every prompt, skills reference external files or memories only at execution time.
