ABOUT THIS SKILL

Alex Hormozi shares the exact funnel he and his portfolio companies use to scale past $250 million in revenue by turning cold traffic into high-ticket buyers in days instead of years.

KEY PRINCIPLES (14)

Attention

Hooks are 80% of the ad’s effectiveness.

A 3-second hook outweighs minutes of content; therefore generate 50+ hooks before producing any ad.

Why: Short attention spans on social platforms mean the first seconds decide whether the rest of the message is even seen.

"Hooks are by far the 80% of the ad... the fact that Hooks are short is a gift from God for advertisers"

Attention

Organic content that already performs can be turned into paid winners.

Take top-performing organic posts, add a clear CTA, and pay the platform to scale what the algorithm already proved people like.

Why: You get free market validation before spending money, eliminating guesswork and wasted ad spend.

"you just let the algorithm tell you what people already like... then you just say, oh, I'm going to take this thing, and I'm going to turn it into something that feeds my business"

Persuasion

Use the four-step persuasion matrix: more good, less bad if they act; more bad, less good if they don’t.

Every offer can be framed by (1) more positives gained, (2) negatives removed, (3) negatives avoided, and (4) positives missed by inaction.

Why: It covers both gain and loss aversion, doubling the emotional angles that move people to action.

"you're going to get more good stuff if you do the thing... you're going to get less bad stuff... if you don't do the thing... you're going to get more bad stuff, and you're going to get less good stuff"

Copywriting

Specific moments beat generic benefits.

Replace vague claims like “feel better” with concrete moments such as “bending over to tie your shoe without getting out of breath.”

Why: Specificity triggers personal memory and identification, making the prospect feel the result before purchase.

"Think in moments. What is the moment that someone thinks, wow, I feel better?"

Lead Magnets

Solve the tiniest problem completely rather than a big problem partially.

A one-step micro-solution (e.g., how to know if a girl wants to be kissed) outperforms a bloated e-book.

Why: When you perfectly solve one small problem, prospects assume you can solve the rest, creating trust and upsell momentum.

"We want to solve the tiniest problem we possibly can for the prospect and completely solve it and blow them away"

Lead Magnets

Match the lead magnet to your highest-value avatar, not to beginners.

If your ideal client is an owner doing $1M+, a “first five clients” guide attracts the wrong people and wastes sales time.

Why: Lead quality determines lifetime value; misaligned magnets fill the funnel with low-revenue prospects.

"you want to make sure the lead magnet is perfectly fit for the perfect customer that you want"

Conversion

Pre-handle every objection in the VSL so the sales call is just a decision, not education.

Include FAQs in the exact words prospects use, turning multi-call closes into single-call closes.

Why: Reduces sales cycle length and increases close rate by front-loading the information 78% of buyers consume anyway.

"why don't I try and force people to become somebody who is likely to buy?... answer all of their concerns in the video"

Qualification

Use BANT filters in the application to avoid wasted sales calls.

Require prospects to confirm Budget, Authority, Need, and Timing before booking; only speak with those who pass.

Why: Sales efficiency skyrockets when reps talk only to pre-qualified, warmed-up leads.

"you actually only take calls with people who say they have the money to spend, they have the authority... now you're talking to them"
