Speed is the most powerful behavior trainer because humans learn fastest with decreased latency.
Compress every delay—purchase-to-delivery time, recurring-service time, appointment availability—until you are measurably faster than alternatives.
Why: Neuroscience shows that shorter feedback loops reinforce behavior; the same dopamine mechanism that keeps people scrolling social media can be used to lock in customer preference.

Templates eliminate decision-making, the slowest part of any organization.
Ad templates, email templates, landing-page templates, onboarding scripts—anything repeatable—remove cognitive load and accelerate throughput.
Why: Decision-making is a serial process; removing it allows parallel execution by lower-skill operators.

Premaking inventory or deliverables lets you serve customers before they ask.
McDonald’s had burgers on the line; a Persian café grilled chicken before the lunch rush. The cost of occasional waste is outweighed by faster table turns.
Why: Batching converts variable service time into a fixed, near-zero wait, increasing perceived value and revenue per labor hour.

Availability is a hidden multiplier—extend hours or staff up to capture demand the moment it appears.

Why: Every hour you are closed or booked out hands the customer to a competitor; elasticity of demand is highest at the point of pain.

Risk equals variance; reduce variance and you reduce perceived risk.
Map every variable that can affect customer outcome—weather, staff mood, supply delays—and build SOPs or contingencies for each.
Why: Customers pay premiums to avoid downside; reliability compounds into reputation, which compounds into pricing power.

Reputation is a pre-purchase risk reducer that outperforms any guarantee.
Word of mouth (positive or negative) spreads asymmetrically—negative is ten times more viral—so consistency over time becomes the moat.
Why: Social proof shortcuts decision-making; the brain uses others’ experience as a proxy for its own future outcome.

Guarantees are training wheels; use unconditional, conditional, implied, or anti-guarantees depending on reputation stage.
Start with unconditional refunds, graduate to conditional performance clauses, move to implied (pay-for-performance), and finally remove guarantees entirely once reputation is cemented.
Why: Each type aligns risk-sharing with the customer’s trust level, minimizing downside while maximizing perceived safety.

Cheapness must be engineered from day one, not bolted on later.
Structure every cost center—AI, automation, offshoring—so savings can be passed through while remaining profitable; do not simply cut margins.
